    {{jcity}}{{jstate}} Job DescriptionPrimary PurposeThe Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide technical assurance and support for the detailed design phases of the Engineering Contractor. Activities include audit and assurance of mechanical design. The relevant industry specifications include API, ASME, ANSI, PIP and other process industry codes and standards. Responsible for evaluating the more complex rotating equipment packages associated with reciprocating compressors, gas turbine driven compressors, pumps, associated auxiliary support packages, string tests and issue resolving. Assist with communicating details of the equipment with other project engineers and project managers. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will be expected to assist with permitting, concept, design, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities throughout the project schedule.

    Duties and ResponsibilitiesAudits detailed designs for rotating equipment; gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, gearboxes, blowers, pumps and their associated auxiliary support systems.

    Ensures equipment is designed and constructed to be safe, to perform the requirements of the process, and to meet the Project specifications.

    Reviews equipment inquiry/purchase requisitions & technical bid evaluations supplied by engineering contractor for correctness of selection.
    Reviews in an audit and assurance role vendor drawings and data, test procedures, reports and calculations.
    Participates in Process HAZID and HAZOP analysis as needed.
    Participates in factory acceptance tests and inspections.
    Interfaces with engineering contractor counterparts and other engineering disciplines on a project task force.
    Participates in tracking project deliverables with minimal supervision.
    Stays abreast of current Rotating Equipment developments thru participation in Industry technical shows and committees.
    Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

    • Engineering or Mechanical fieldExperience5+ years experience in industry related experience with large rotating machinery.
    This experience should include gas turbines, large process or refrigerant compressors, drivers, gearboxes, blowers and pumps and their associated auxiliary support systems and/or skid mounted packaged systems.5+ Years experience and knowledge with control systems for typical compression equipment.

    Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesFamiliarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).Must have a good working knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, PIP and other process industry codes and standards.

    Ability to maintain multiple assignments with various deadlines and responsibility levels concurrently.
    Ability to deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
    Ability to effectively communicate with contractor and vendors.
    Ability to communicate in a professional and effective manner, including in-person, telephone, and E-mail.
    Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    Demonstrated proficiency in referencing, researching, reporting, tracking and monitoring of activities and documents.
    Ability to work independently and function with limited supervision.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).Specific knowledge in understanding the vibration as related to rotating equipment, this includes both analytical applications (lateral/torsional analysis) and diagnostics during Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning activities.

    Understanding of acoustic pulsation studies and pulsation issues on reciprocating equipment.
    Design and construction knowledge of NEC codes, especially as related to hazardous area applications.
    Knowledge of mechanical equipment air emission reduction concepts and applications.
