    Description

    Job Purpose:
    Disassembles, inspects customer equipment, and assists with determining repairs. Fills out appropriate reports and parts orders. Perform assigned tasks. Assist with plant equipment maintenance and repairs.
    Furnish necessary hand tools to meet his job requirements.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Perform tasks with moderate supervision.
    Studies blueprints, sketches, drawing and specifications.
    Samples part to determine critical dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements.
    Take Engineering drawing and create programs from CNC machine tools.

    Determines the best possible procedure, sets-up machine and proficiently operates manual and CNC machining and turning centers to achieve required specifications.

    Efficiently set-up and operate multiple CNC machining and turning centers producing high quality parts.
    Recall programs, determine edits and offsets and make modifications to programs as required.
    Constantly monitor parts production to ensure adherence to blueprint tolerances.
    Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
    Changes and adjusts tooling as required.
    Shape, sharpen, set cutter, and adjust own tools to achieve desired print tolerance.
    Set-up bore gauges and other inspection equipment.
    Inspects own work at each step (set-up) to enable timely continuance and ensure quality parts.

    Demonstrates excellent productivity on a large variety of complicated parts and offers creative/innovative machining, tooling, and fixturing improvement solutions to supervision to reduce production costs and improve quality.

    Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.
    Work safely and maintain the work are with high standards of housekeeping.
    Performs required Preventative Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated.

    Performs the work in lower classifications when assigned, i.e., drills, saws, press brake, etc., and assists in the work in higher classifications.

    Performs other duties as assigned by Supervision.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Minimum of 1 year experienceE

    D or High School DiplomaRequirements:
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    CNC programming experienceKnowledge and experience of machining practices and techniquesBasic mechanical principlesShop mathematicsBlueprint readingMeasuring procedures-using precision measuring toolsStanding for extended periods of time, bending, reaching sitting, medium to heavy lifting pounds several times per day, visual acuity, and hand dexterityKnowledge of Rottler Acu-Rite CNC controlsForklift operation experienceKnowledge of boring machinesWorking Conditions:
    Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8:00m. to 4:00 p.m.
