    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    FLSA:
    Hourly
    Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students.

    Provide students and staff with a clean and safe enviroment which to learn and develop, while ensuring building and system longevity through proper maintenance and care; supervise building custodial staff.


    MAJOR TASKS:
    Performs custodial, grounds, minor repairs, and routine maintenance as needed.
    Confers with teachers and administrators and provides necessary maintenance repairs to building.
    Reports need for major repairs to Facilities & Construction department and manages work orders.
    Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for the building and carries it out.
    Provides work instructions and methods, trains and orients building custodians.
    Orders, receives, and checks equipment and supplies.
    Performs maintenance on HVAC equipment, i.e. motors, belts, filters.
    Keeps accurate records of supplies and maintenance of equipment.
    Prepares work schedules and issues assignments to custodians.
    Maintains supply inventories.
    Reads all job related information.
    Understands and applies safety-related precautions as outline in MSDS.
    Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
    Performs additional duties as assigned by building Principal and/ or Director of Facilities & Construction.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High school graduate or equivalent.
    Ability to relate to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
    Two or five years experience in custodial services.
    Prior supervisory experience preferred.
    Basic understanding and/or training in all major construction trades, i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and irrigation systems.
    Ability to lift and manipulate materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
    Ability to operate job-related equipment.
