    We currently have an opening for an IT Training Specialist. This role can be based out of our offices in Oakville, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec. This role reports to the Network Manager.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Architecture Review Board (ARB)
    Primary key representative in the ARB for Network Architecture
    Together with other domain's architecture, find the right solutions for business needs in the IT Infrastructure Network areas

    Network Design and Connectivity :
    Collaborate with the project and operations network team to design robust network and other connectivity services
    Ensure that the chosen methods and technologies are practical, correct, and aligned with the intended purpose

    Knowledge Transfer and Team Development :

    Coach and train both ITD (Infrastructure Technology Domain) and ITB (Infrastructure Business Domain) teams, elevating their knowledge of new technologies and solutions.

    Empower your colleagues to implement cutting-edge solutions effectively.

    Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Delivery Assurance :
    Validate practical concepts through PoCs with vendors and fellow architects within our IT department.
    Ensure seamless delivery across our North America locations.

    Standards Consultation and Alignment :
    Consult with ITD peers who set the standards for networking, security, and voice solutions.
    Collaborate to maintain excellence in our infrastructure.

    Collaboration and Support :
    Evaluate the need and risks of upgrading and maintaining all network equipment to adhere to our Cyber Security guidance.

    Technical Troubleshooting and Vendor Coordination :
    Coordinate with vendors to resolve deep technical problems related to network equipment and software.

    Network Expertise :
    Possess a strong understanding of network topologies, limitations, security, and practical implementations.

    Documentation
    Create clear architecture design documents for deep technical discussions as well as for top management review
    Handover architecture design documents to project and operation teams
    Keep the design base documentation up to date with changing standards

    Change Management and Performance Optimization :
    Support and implement change management strategies to maintain a stable network environment.
    Qualifications & experience

    Education & Certificates
    A Bachelor or College degree in Computer Science, network administration, system administration or equivalent
    Technical certifications are an asset (Cisco CCNA, ITIL, CISSP, etc.
    Technical Skills and Experience

    Proven Network Architecture Expertise:
    Demonstrated ability as a Network Architect with a minimum of 5 years of field experience

    Solid understanding of networking protocols and standards, including IP and Ethernet technologies, as well as routing protocols (such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP).

    Familiarity with service quality parameters (QoS) to ensure optimal network performance.

    Telecommunication Industry Knowledge:
    Proficiency in various areas of the telecommunication industry:

    Local Area Networks (LANs)
    Wide Area Networks (WANs)
    Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
    IP Telephony
    Network Security (including firewalls, web filtering, IPS/IDS)
    Wireless Technology
    Load Balancing


    Network Monitoring Solutions:
    Proficiency in using network monitoring solutions to ensure network health and performance.

    Enterprise Security Environments:
    Understanding of enterprise security environments and best practices.

    Industrial Networking (IT/OT):
    Exposure to industrial networking, particularly the convergence of IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology).

    Additional Technical Expertise :
    Familiarity with CISCO ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and Checkpoint Firewall Maestro is a plus.
