Summary You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST of NMRTC NEW ENGLAND RI. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT.

Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

Duties * You will investigate health concerns within the workplace and determine probable cause. * You will evaluate and propose new work processes to minimize health hazards. * You will utilize DoD and Navy regulations regarding occupational health and hazardous materials. * You will carry out inspections. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience planning and carrying industrial hygiene programs.
• Experience developing a variety of control measures to include: ventilation, shielding, material substitution, changes in work procedures, isolation, education, and personal protective devices.
• Experience investigating arising health concerns and determining probable cause within the workplace.
• Experience recommending and evaluating new work processes to minimize health hazards.
• Experience assessing work practices to identify the population at risk.
• Experience maintaining, calibrating, and selecting appropriate equipment to oversee sampling. Experience preparing documentation for personnel medical records.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience planning and carrying industrial hygiene programs.
• Experience developing a variety of control measures to include: ventilation, shielding, material substitution, changes in work procedures, isolation, education, and personal protective devices.
• Experience investigating arising health concerns and determining probable cause within the workplace.
• Experience recommending and evaluating new work processes to minimize health hazards.

Applicants must possess.

• A bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or related science; or
• A bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene; or
