    Description

    PurposeIn collaboration with supervising physicians, provides for the expansion of individualized healthcare services by diagnosing and treating pediatric and congenital heart conditions.

    ResponsibilitiesCounsels and educates heart failure and transplant patients and their families/ caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options and community resourcesDocuments delivery of cardiac critical health care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policyParticipants in orientation and education of staff and studentsObtains cardiac critical care patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examinationOrders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients.

    Performs health assessments, screening, and patient careProvides direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.

    Engages in discharge planningOther related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsPhysician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of NursingLicensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical CareCredentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing.

    Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care UnitHighly proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidanceAbility to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situationsCapacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery teamRelevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate#healthstartshere4
    Salary Range$122,000+ depending on qualificationsWorking ConditionsRepetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
