    Job Description

    A Clinical Therapists/ Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children with language deficits and/or behavioral problems and support to their families. Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs and lead program responsibilities as directed the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

    General Accountabilities

    • Provides direct one-on-one ABA theapy to clients.
    • Maintains RBT certification through the BACB.
    • Maintains CPR and BLS certification
    • Assists the supervisory staff in implementing one-on-one behavioral intervention programs to children with language deficits and/or behavioral problems in the clinic, community, school, and home environments.
    • Observes and record child's behaviors and progress towards treatment goals across all settings.
    • Maintains graphs for acquisition and deceleration targets.
    • Communicates with the family and other agency personnel using a one voice policy.
    • Communicates and coordinates with other therapist(s) and supervisory staff as appropriate.
    • Participates in in-service training programs on ABA principals, discrete trial teaching techniques, natural environment training, management of maladaptive behaviors, child development and data collection techniques applicable to BSC client population.
    • Helps prepare training materials and conduct trainings as directed by Clinical Director and supervisory staff.
    • Understands and adhere to established BSC policies and procedures.
    • With direction from the supervisory staff, instructs family/significant others in acquisition and behavioral programs and protocols during monthly parent collaboration sessions.
    • Participates in current client's team meetings. Meetings are approximately once a month but may occur more or less often as needed.
    • Follows recommendations outlined by supervisory staff.
    • Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
    • Checks e-mail daily on weekdays to communicate as needed.
    • Observes confidentiality and safeguards all client related information per BSC HIPPA training.
    • Adheres to BSC standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by Leadership and/or supervisory staff.

    Job Qualifications

    • High School Diploma, bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Current certification as Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
    • At least one-year experience in the field of special education, preferred.
    • Demonstrates competency with lead program responsibilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
    • Team oriented with an ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams (ABA Therapists/Speech/OT).
    • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Must have current and valid automobile insurance if transporting students.
    • Pass a criminal background check.
