LIFT-UP is the leader in providing equitable food security for individuals and families: educating, building understanding, and support to end hunger from Parachute to Aspen.
The Opportunity:
We are actively seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Operations, who will be at the forefront of driving the growth and impact of LIFT-UP.
We place strong emphasis on cultivating inclusivity for fostering innovation, clear, concise, and consistent communication within our organization and with external partnerships.
The Director of Operations will help to execute strategic plans aligned with our mission and goals, enhance efficiency and effectiveness to protect the organizations financial health, as well as building and maintaining strategic partnerships both within the organization and external stakeholders.
With a commitment to continuous improvement, The Director of Operation will assess and optimize internal organizational operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring that LIFT-UP remains the leader in addressing food insecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Strategy
Provide oversight and leadership for data-driven operational excellence in warehousing and transportation, logistics, food storage, distribution, and retail sales.
Identify new business opportunities, while ensuring all existing operations and programs are meeting / exceeding goals and expectations as outline in the annual budget.
Ensure safe, effective, and efficient operational execution at all LIFT-UP worksite locations, are in compliance with all state, local, and federal regulatory requirements.
Serve as a strategic thought partner on the senior leadership team (SLT) to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and continuously strengthen impact.
o Retail Thrift Stores – Work to ensure budget income is achieved and generating approximately 33% of the organization's annual income $750,000pa.
o Transportation – Oversee organizations distribution vehicles, ensuring regular maintenance, adherence to DOT requirements and the creation of a fiscally responsible renewal program.
o Facility Management – Oversight and maintenance of LIFT-UP's three main facilities in Parachute, Rifle and Glenwood Springs, in addition servicing the facility needs of our six fixed pantries along the Parachute to Aspen corridor.
o Human Resources – Direct responsibility of the organization's small but important human resource department, including such tasks as recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits.
Must Have:
Passion for the mission of LIFT-UP, combined with the desire and ability to implement that mission.
Able to demonstrate a track record of effective leadership in a similar position for a period of at least three years.
Experience in successfully managing and developing staff, collaborating with a highly motivated management team, and working to sustain and build relationships with community partners.
