- Maintain and repair company equipment and assets using privately owned hand tools.
- Conduct major engine overhauls, rebuilding gasoline and diesel engines as needed.
- Perform bumper-to-bumper repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers.
- Conduct annual vehicle inspections to meet D.O.T regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical systems, steering systems, pneumatic-air brake systems, hydraulics, transmissions, drivetrain components, etc.
- Keep accurate work orders and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist with building and yard maintenance and perform welding and fabrication tasks when required.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience.
- Vocational training or technical certificate preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain company vehicles in compliance with D.O.T regulations.
- Basic computer skills and valid driver's license with clean record.
- Adequately stocked toolbox.
- Ability to operate up to class 8 trucks and small forklifts after training.
- Engine rebuilding.
- Knowledge of Cummins Insite, Detroit D-deck, and Cat E.T.
- Class A, B, or C CDL (not required).

Job DescriptionMadden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic for our Portland client in the metal recycling industry. The successful candidate will come with their own hand tools and repair and maintain all company equipment from PM to engine overhauls and rebuilding gas or diesel engines.
Diesel Truck Mechanic Shifts: Day 6am – 2:30pm AND Swing 2:30pm – 11pm
Diesel Truck Mechanic Pay: $28-36/hr
