FIELD TECHNICIAN

Description:

Michigan Broadband Services is seeking a skilled Field Technician to service Lake Gogebic, Marenisco and North Land OLakes areas. This role requires performing physical labor, working efficiently, and being highly self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair telephone and internet facilities including copper cable and fiber.
• Maintain subscriber carrier systems, terminals, protection devices, and customer-owned equipment.
• Diagnose and repair switching equipment, voice frequency repeaters, loop extenders, and cable loading systems.
• Install and repair modems, drops, and other necessary equipment in customer homes and businesses.
• Utilize small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Read and interpret documents such as maps, staking sheets, and service order/repair tickets.
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Average schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work required.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Lift 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, kneel, and ladder climb regularly.
• Familiarity with fiber installation and splicing is a plus but not necessary.
• High school diploma is mandatory.

Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
