Job Purpose:

Assure good operation, handling and conditions of the forklift to prevent damage to any material as well as accidents.

Conduct all required activities as needed to assure that material is transported in a timely and appropriate manner to maintain efficient productivity while complying with Good Manufacturing Practices as well as company safety policies and established procedures.

Assure commitment to food safety and quality of company products.

Routine Functions

Follow daily personnel assignments.

Report any unsafe or unsanitary condition to supervisor and or Safety Officer.

Prepare job reports as instructed.

Carry out special projects under direction of Floor supervisor.

Follow routine maintenance schedules for equipment.

Forklift operator will be required to wear appropriate clothing and safety gear as required by supervisor.

Operator will be responsible of completing daily checklist to assure that equipment is in operating conditions prior to use.

Operator must be able to understand loading and unloading procedures of assigned products.

Know dimensions of spaces and routes that will be used to transit.

Forklift driver during operation must attend to diverse security measures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to equipment, structures, and buildings including the operator.

When a failure or damage is detected on a forklift it must be notified immediately to the supervisor for the correction of such issue to prevent an accident.

Participate in weekly safety trainings.

Participate in annual trainings (HAZCOM, GMP, Food Defense, Allergens, HACCP, and Food Safety, Etc.)

Participate in yearly trainings conducted by third parties.

Receive company Forklift Driver License when required

Assist another department if needed

Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent

Language English/Spanish (Read, Speak, Write, & Comprehend)

Skills/Qualifications:

Follow direct instructions

Lift, carry and place cases of cans and buckets weighing, up to 50 lbs.

Work in areas that are cold, or hot, with high noise levels on shifts up to 10 hours per day.

Basic Knowledge:

Forklift operating experience

Basic writing skills

Basic Math

Basic Reading
