Responsibilities

Seeking a trial attorney to join State Farm Litigation Counsel's team. This role involves managing personal injury defense litigation and insurance-related issues in a structured setting. Ideal candidates should have exceptional oral advocacy and writing skills, excellent research capabilities, a strong team spirit, and high ethical standards. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment. The role entails a mix of in-office and remote work, with potential changes in work arrangements based on business requirements.

Based in Indianapolis, we engage in an active civil trial practice. We offer a cooperative, team-focused, and professional work atmosphere with proficient support staff.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with the following background:

1-15 years of legal experience
Experience in civil or criminal jury trials, or a keen interest in such trials
Strong proficiency in technology
Preferably, a background in insurance defense

Additional Information:

J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School, ranking in the top half of the graduating class, and an active, in-good-standing member of the state's Bar
Active law license to practice in Indiana and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Indiana
Besides authorized and pro bono work, candidates are prohibited from engaging in any external legal activities outside the Company and must conclude all external practice before joining State Farm
Successful completion of the orientation and training program as stipulated by the Managing Attorney or the Law Department
Travel via commercial transport or driving for work-related purposes
May have non-standard working hours due to workload and job requirements
Meeting State Bar standards and continuously enhancing legal skills through participation in ongoing legal education programs

**Candidates must be eligible to work legally in the U.S. without need for sponsorship by the employer for US work authorization for this position.
