    Overview

    The Pediatric Neurologist is responsible for medical care and quality of services provided at the Clinic. The physician reports to the Medical Director of the Neurology.


    Job Description


    • Completes initial assessment and evaluation of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patient's medical condition and provides treatment.
    • Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures and authorizes and coordinates all specialty and ancillary services.
    • Provides in-service staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through Medical practice.
    • Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurse, rehab staff etc.
    • Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screening, immunization program, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc.

    Minimum Qualifications Required


    • All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam
    • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
    • Board eligible/board certified
    • Must meet all credentialing requirements as required by Medicaid, Medicare and insurances
    • Completion of an appropriate residency program required
    • Three (3) years in the practice of medicine
    • Completion of Medical Doctorate required.
    • Must hold current, active license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia
