    Biostatistics Senior AnalystDepartment:

    Medicine | School Biomed Sci - Biomedical Informatics The Biostatistics Senior Analyst position functions as a biostatistician in support of biomedical research projects across the health sciences at The Ohio State University as a member of the Center for Biostatistics (CFB).

    Biostatisticians advise study investigators in the areas of protocol development, study design, statistical analysis plans, sample size / power calculations, and interpretation of study data.

    They collaborate and provide guidance to understand and determine biostatistical needs of investigators, including support for grant submissions, journal articles, technical reports, and abstracts.

    They support research studies by conducting and interpreting analyses of research data using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, and advanced statistical procedures.

    They work together with investigators to ensure accuracy and validity of research data and take appropriate action to resolve potential data problems.

    The Biostatistics Senior Analyst mentors and helps to oversee and train junior biostatisticians. They have opportunities to attend and present at relevant scientific or statistical conferences, seminars, and workshops. Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or other quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Considerable knowledge and command of at least one statistical programming language including SAS, R, or Stata is required.

    Experience in preparing grant applications is preferred. Experience in managing large datasets using SQL and similar programming languages is preferred.
