    Job Requirements

    Construction inspectors experienced in Underground utilities specifically fiber optic/conduit/directional drilling for long term East and West based construction management.

    Desired skills and experiences:

    Utilities – Underground infrastructure construction work to include installation of municipal Sewer manholes and pipelines, water pipelines, electrical and communications lines and conduits, Natural gas lines and storm water structures and storm water piping. Experience requires detailed ability to review and monitor all work in conformance to specifications and industry standards. Skilled in material measuring and inventory for measurement and payments, compile detailed daily inspection reports of work progress.

  • Understanding of construction plans, wet and dry utilities.
  • Understanding of underground utility locating/potholing, GPS, and survey equipment.
  • Experienced inspection oversight in fiber optic installation; including excavation, directional drilling, potholing, conduit.
  • Ability to work independently and with municipal engineers, contract and sub clients.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations related to telecommunications projects and general construction practices.
  • Experience in utility engineering investigations and planning work, has a firm grasp of the fundamentals of engineering construction processes and their application to utility systems.
  • Evaluates existing right-of-way and prior rights conditions for individual utilities.
  • Roadway and municipal inspection oversight.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills with articulate communication abilities (both written and verbal)
  • Daily Diaries, documentation, photos for reporting construction activity
  • Basic math skills for measurements/payments, good writing ability and computer skills, including MS Office suite.
  • Any additional construction inspection experience in roadway, freeway, bridge, aviation, light rail is a big plus for additional ongoing construction management/inspection work in the metro Phoenix area and outside.
  • Certifications in ACI, ATTI, ATSSA, NICET a big plus.
  • Utility location & relocation, fiber optic, electrical, gas, base maps, water pipes, pipe size, sewer pipes, right of way, municipal, light rail, roadway
