    BEVERAGE MANAGER



    The Butcher's Daughter is a busy, fast paced and vibrant vegetarian restaurant. We are home to locals, and a destination to travelers – and strive to create an environment & lifestyle that is welcoming to all. We are looking for a Beverage Manager to join the team at our Venice location, who is enthusiastic about the restaurant industry, and passionate about curation of beverage programs, loves people, and is excited to be a part of our team. You must understand full restaruant operations and standards, adhering to budgets, hiring and training food and beverage staff, and handling customer complaints.

    To be a successful food and beverage manager, you should have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, as well as experience with designing menus, managing costs, and training staff.


    Beverage Manager Responsibilities:

    • Designing delicious and attractive menu items and continuously making improvements.
    • Forecasting, planning, sourcing, and ordering supplies for the bar program, as well as beverages to stock the bar and fridges.
    • Building positive relationships with beverage vendors.
    • Adhering to the beverage & labor budget
    • Managing daily beverage operations.
    • Following food and safety regulations.
    • Maintaining positive customer relationships, processing complaints, and responding to customer needs.
    • Assisting with marketing events
    • Creating and enforcing restaurant policies, targets, and KPIs.
    • Hiring, training, and managing food and beverage staff.
    • Managing daily business demands
    • Being present on the floor and customer facing
    • Managing time between administrative and service

    Food and Beverage Manager Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in the hospitality industry, with an emphasis on food and beverages.
    • Culinary or food service management degree a plus
    • In-depth knowledge of the food industry.
    • Strong working knowledge of related computer software, including restaurant management software.
    • Ability to adhere to budgets and meet financial targets.
    • Exceptional organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to forecast food and beverage needs.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Great delegation skills.
    • Bartending background and training
    • Advanced knowledge of beer and wine


    Other Job duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Supervising Restaurant Staff; servers, baristas, line cooks, dishwashers, support staff
    • Supporting Service- greeting & seating guests, bussing tables, running food
    • Collecting Server Check-outs
    • Ensuring Side-work is complete
    • Ensuring Guest Satisfaction
    • Assisting Guests - answering phones, replying to emails, making reservations
    • Ensuring Restaurant Cleanliness
    • Maintaining Health Dept Standards
    • Writing Shift Summaries
    • Assisting with monthly inventory process

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3+ years of management experience in a fast paced, high-volume full-servicerestaurant
    • Has a natural ability to maintain a calm, collected demeanor, and works well under pressure for long days and fast paced environment
    • Knowledge of operations including food, beverage, safety, and guest experience.
    • Is a quick learner, critical thinker and natural problem solver
    • Has strong communication skills
    • Is passionate about food, beverage and people And is invested in growing the restaurant as if it's your own.
    • Is able to receive and complete tasks efficiently and timely
    • Is hands on and creative
    • Is willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends, late nights, and holidays (our busiest time)
    • Is a self-motivator and a cheerleader for others You have the ability to work long hours under pressure and still inspire others with a smile
