    Description

    JOB SUMMARY:
    • Take drink orders (from guests and food/cocktail servers) and prepare according to set procedures; serve guests in a courteous manner.
    • Maintain and clean the assigned bar constantly to ensure Department of Health and safety codes are met. This is to be done every day and continually during shift.
    • Ensure guests at the Avi have a rewarding experience and all their needs and expectations are met. The bartender also functions as a property host.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
    • Report to work at the assigned scheduled time in proper uniform and appearance. Ensure that all set standards of conduct and operating procedures are maintained throughout the shift.
    • Maintain an awareness of company and Beverage department rules, policies and procedures.
    • Maintain all assigned equipment in a proper working manner, reporting all problems, damage and general condition as required to the Beverage Manager or Beverage Supervisor.
    • Greet and assist all guests and employees in a courteous and friendly manner. Smile, smile
    • Open assigned bars/outlets at the proper time and to the standards set. Be at assigned bars/outlets ready to work at start of shift.
    • Take drink orders from guests and food/cocktail servers in a proper and courteous manner.
    • Mix drinks according to set procedures and recipes.
    • Ensure all orders are properly rung up on the POS computer to the correct profit center. Ensure attention to detail.
    • Assist Beverage manager and supervisor in the training of new barbacks as required.
    • Ensure the bank is in order at the start and at the end of each shift, all necessary receipts (Slot comps, room charges, credit card charges, etc.) are in order.
    • Ensure guests' and employees' safety are maintained at all times.
    • All guests visibly looking 30 years old or under must be checked for proper identification to ensure being over the age of 21 before serving alcoholic beverage. There are to be no exceptions.
    • Ensure the entire bar area security at all times. Watch for any intoxicated guest and abuse problems. When situation occurs notify Manager on Duty, Beverage manager or Beverage supervisor or the necessary personnel.
    • All beverage served at the bars (Slot comps and cash/charge sales) must have a torn computer print out receipt placed in front of the guest.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisory personnel.
    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Shifts and days off may vary according to business levels.
    • Must be in uniform with name tag and wear company approved safety shoe with a slip resistant sole.
    • Thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and exits, safety and cleaning procedures.
    • Knowledge of all cleaning and chemical supplies used.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
    • On a minimal level responsible for the barback assigned to the bar for that shift.
    Position Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • At least two (2) years experience as a bartender in a large volume bar/restaurant or casino bar preferred. Prior working experience as a barback is grounds for consideration.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    • Must have and maintain current health card, TAM or AES card, gaming card.
    • Must have telephone or reliable message number.
    • Social Security card and proof of eligibility to work in USA.

    • Have the ability to keep up with an ever changing pace.
    • Have the ability to understand and react to instructions given by supervisor/manager.
    • Have the ability to read, understand, acknowledge, and follow the Bartender Training Manual.
    • Have the ability to read, understand, acknowledge, and follow the policies and procedures set forth for the Beverage Department and Avi policies and procedures.
    • Computer literate - Knowledge of how to run the Infogenesis machines and printers.
    • Knowledge of mixing drinks.
    • Knowledge of the server stations as assigned.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Have the ability to speak with guests about complaints and know when to involve the supervisor/manager.

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employed to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.     • Must have ability to lift 40 lbs.
    • Possess a high quality of standards and ability to communicate with co-workers, guests and supervisory personnel.
    • Able to work/stand (be on your feet) for long periods of time in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be 21 years of age.

    The work environment is characterized as a bar/casino setting where tables, chairs, server stations, computers, printers as well as other Beverage supplies will be used as a part of the job. The noise level ranges from low to high with the pace of the casino/bar. The immediate work environment is partially a smoking environment. There exists smoking in all surrounding areas outside of the casino as well.
