    The anticipated salary range for this role is between $204,000.00 and $250, The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.

    Summary


    We are seeking a Senior Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to help us structure, transition, and deliver Financial Planning and Analysis, and collaborate with enhancing our complex environment.

    The ideal candidate will partner with the CFO, SMBC's FP&A function, and across entities, divisions and departments to develop best practices and quality data, reporting, analysis, inclusive of product-specific economics, liquidity monitoring, interest rate risk and expense and capital management.

    This role will help maintain and improve day-to-day financial and management reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and support strategic initiatives.

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities

    Elevate the FP&A function within the SMBC MANUBANK (the Bank), act as a strategic partner to the business leads

    Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes. Enhance the budget and forecast production process, including automation, building out technical infrastructure, reporting and communication.

    Enhance monthly actual and forecast management reporting process including working with businesses, stakeholders, and internal teams.

    Work with businesses, stakeholders, and management to create scenario and sensitivity analyses and resourcing strategies and initiatives.

    Provide analytical insights to the business leads to support the business strategies.

    Define and monitor performance metrics and KPIs.

    Monitor budget vs actual performance and work closely with CxOs, including timely communications.

    Prepare ad-hoc analysis to support business initiatives, strategies and partnerships.

    Act as the expense management champion, lead expense management initiatives.

    Lead capital planning process

    Work with key stakeholders to enhance and build compensation framework and headcount and expense review process.

    Develop close alignment with SMBC's FP&A function and align on key priorities and initiatives.

    Lead Finance data strategy initiative.

    Identify, challenge, and communicate risks and impacts to management team while considering business implications and dependencies.

    Execute critical initiative, as needed, including performing gap assessment, critical analysis, setting up projects/initiatives to drive results.

    Identify opportunities for process improvements and look at results for reasonableness.

    Manage team to drive end-to-end delivery of key mandates.


    Develop constructive relationships within and outside the team, including communication of key messages and updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner and managing client expectations and determining actions to improve services, as necessary.

    Qualifications & Skills

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

    15+ years' experience in managing expense in financial services or related industries.

    10+ years overall FP&A experience.

    5+ years in the leadership role in FP&A function,

    Experience with supporting change and reporting transformation efforts.

    Background in reporting and analysis, compensation and expense framework, headcount strategies and related modeling experiences.


    Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively build and manage relationships with team members and colleagues at decision making levels.

    Proven track record in setting up and executing key expense and headcount initiatives including driver-based reporting.

    Collaborative and demonstrated ability to manage a team in dynamic environment.

    Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

    Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications.
