    Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

    Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C.

    Full Time/Nights-11pm-7:30am

    Weekend Rotations Required

    ***Will Consider Medical Lab Assistant I or II***

    Position Summary:
    • Accepts blood and miscellaneous specimens received from internal and external customers.
    • Verifies information provided on specimen with order requisition; assuring sufficient quantity and type.
    • Centrifuges and distributes blood specimens to appropriate section.
    • Orders and prepares specimens for reference laboratory pickup.
    • Answers main laboratory telephone, transferring calls as requested.
    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    Work Experience:
    • Greater than 2 years of experience in Laboratory specimen processing.
