    Working within the Operational Excellence Office (Control Tower), the Operations Project manager is responsible for merchandising project communication to the field and for managing one or more projects within the constraints of scope, quality, schedule, and cost. The Ops Project Manager will act as the liaison among departments and for ensuring that all project requirements and/or objectives are properly defined and documented. The Project manager is responsible for ensuring that appropriate internal and external resources are obtained and managed to meet the objectives of the project.

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
    • Working in collaboration with the Merchandizing Team as well as Operations, manage all field communication and coordination associated with club remodels, expansions, resets and new clubs.
    • Maintain and develop department project processes in merchandizing communication. Act as the key point of contact for Clubs and act as liaison between Merchandizing, Field Operations and Property Development.
    • Manage the roll-out of the Labor Model project, working with both internal and external stakeholders to manage this high-complexity project through to completion.
    • For all assigned projects, the Ops Project Manager will manage the people, tasks and resources within defined tolerances set by the project scope, deliverables and Director, Operational Excellence. General project management duties will include ensuring that the following is in place:
      • Project requirements and objectives are properly defined and documented.
      • Appropriate resources are in place to meet project objectives.
      • Manage people, tasks and resources for assigned projects within the defined tolerances. Work with the Director, Ops Excellence, to manage trade-offs between scope, quality, schedule and cost.
      • Organize, establish meeting cadence for, and manage project deliverables for the project team, inclusive of internal and external resources.
      • Establish (in collaboration with the Director, Ops Excellence) and track the project budget.
    • In general, the Ops Project Manager will facilitate communication as appropriate to all involved and manage stakeholder expectations. This will include issuing regular project updates in PowerPoint or other IT tools.
    • Ensure proper transfer of the project care custody and control at project completion. Close all project documentation and archive appropriate records
    • All project tracking, resource capacity planning and other Ops communication activities, as required.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree in Business, Analysis or similar required.
    • 10+ years of retail operations experience
    • Strong experience with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to understand and develop constructive partnerships with functional business partners on a day-to-day basis and ability to negotiate with business partners at all levels of the organization.
    • Clear and effective communication, attention to detail, ability to process information with high-levels of accuracy.
    • Ability to manage high volume of work, multiple tasks, meet project timelines
    Job Conditions
    • Mostly in-office. Some travel required.
    In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJs Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $74,500.00.
