    Process Safety Engineer (Entry Level) - Houston, TX

    AcuTech Group, Inc. is a premier provider of process safety, risk management, chemical security, industrial fire protection engineering, and emergency management services.

    We have deep expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM), Training, Implementation, Auditing, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA's), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and Facility Siting, among other engineering and consulting services.

    AcuTech has deep specialization in the oil and gas, chemical, LNG, petrochemical, renewables, hydrogen, and other industries handling hazardous materials.

    Our industry experts deliver these services to leading privately held and publicly traded companies, as well as government agencies, and state sponsored entities globally.

    About The Job

    AcuTech is growing rapidly and seeking junior Process Safety Engineers and Process Safety Professionals in the Houston area to help fuel our growth.

    Candidates would join a highly respected team of industry leading PSM experts on challenging projects for many of the world's largest corporations.

    This is a temporary, contract position located in Houston, Texas with the potential for renewal and/or full-time hire.
    What You'll Do

    As part of AcuTech's US PSM team, you will work directly with clients on projects spanning all aspects of process safety and risk management.

    Successful candidates will proactively apply engineering and problem-solving skills to meet challenging safety and business objectives while seeking out leadership and growth opportunities.

    Candidates must have high technical acumen, be self-motivated, independent, organized, able to work effectively under the direction of senior engineers, and handle multiple work assignments and projects.

    What's Required
    Understanding of process safety information including knowledge of equipment design documentation for:

    rotating, electrical, fired and fixed equipment
    relief valves
    piping and piping circulation


    Knowledge and/or experience in process safety auditing techniques such as document collection and review, client interview techniques, and recommendation writing.

    Experience in Process Safety such as PHA (HAZOP/LOPA), PSM auditing, PSM/RMP regulations, SIL/SIS, etc.

    Relevant experience in process safety management, health, safety and environment (HSE), related experience in process or engineering design environment, manufacturing operations, and/or consulting environment.

    Attention to detail and experience working with large amounts of data.
    Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and client service.
    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills and a consultative approach in supporting customer projects.
    What's Preferred
    BS in Process Safety, a related engineering field (chemical, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, safety), or associated science degree.

    Knowledge and understanding of applicable PSM codes and standards including API 510, API 576, API 570, API 650, ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes, ASME B31.1, B31.3.
