ABOUT THE POSITION:
The UAH College of Nursing (UAH CON) seeks a full-time director for the proposed Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program. The director must be eligible for the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor rank. The position requires a mixture of administrative and teaching duties. This is a 12-month position, with reappointment in two years, based on performance, availability of funding, and receiving accreditation.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (DNP, DNAP, PhD, or equivalent), an unencumbered license as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) in Alabama, and have at least five years of CRNA practice.
Competence in educational principles and techniques used in higher education classrooms, laboratories, and clinical settings; knowledge of the profession, including practice issues, procedures, and regulations, is required.
Candidates must be proficient communicators and problem solvers to interact effectively with students, faculty, professional staff, administration, clinical affiliates, and the community.
Candidates must have skills in goal setting and team building, analytical and organizational skills to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities, and independent initiative.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
The College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The college offers pre-licensure BSN, accelerated BSN, ADN to BSN, ADN to MSN, MSN tracks in nursing administration, education, and nurse practitioner tracks in family and adult-gerontological acute care, post-graduate certificates, and DNP programs.
The College of Nursing also offers a Joint Nursing Science PhD program with the University of Alabama. The college's total fall 2022 enrollment was just under 1,000 students across the degree programs. Extensive distance education programs are offered. The College of Nursing currently cooperates with more than 1300 sites for clinical education. All programs provide opportunities to make a difference in healthcare delivery, teaching, and evidence-based practice or research.
