Job Description:
The Sr. Specialist will require a solid understanding of electronics and mechanical concepts. This position will also require participating in a team environment. Routinely interacts with design engineers, manufacturing staff, management and planning. Requires the application of the principles and techniques of electrical/mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for the board level modifications, troubleshooting and testing, repairing of hardware, assembly/disassembly of equipment, and fixturing for tactical radio accessory products and accessories
Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems. Performs engineering RF/analog/digital design and measurement tasks as well as operational tests and fault isolation on radio systems
Uses a variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate radio equipment performance
Support trouble shoot of existing/new products in our manufacturing facility
Performs engineering tests, detailed experimental testing or operational test and fault isolation on boards, systems and equipment with guidance from engineering.
Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine root cause of problems in equipment.
Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks
Utilizes the companys order entry system to orders cables, attenuators, and other ancillary items.
Builds cables, fixtures, and ancillary hardware
Radio and equipment repair
Tracks radio and other development assets.
Supports field test, engineering, and other organizational technician needs.
Supports entry of items, (BOMs, ECOs, ECRs), into Division CM System (Agile)
Board level modifications (change components, modifications, simple board building from schematics, etc.)
Essential Functions:
Clearance if desired, ability to travel, work extended hours if required
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Technology
Knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-7711/7721 (certification preferred)
Proven and effective communications skills and interpersonal skills are a must
PWB level modification and build experience (SMT devices, removal, soldering)
Fixture design and assembly (basic mechanical skills)
Cable building and repair experience desired
Experience in digital, analog, and RF circuitry design/troubleshoot
Measurement of key performance parameters using analyzers, generators, oscilloscopes, and meters
Understanding of software defined radio products and communications
Expertise in evaluation of designs for testability; Working knowledge of the fundamentals of In-Circuit Test (ICT), functional board level testing, unit and system level testing, coverage analysis
Experience with automation systems including electronic test
Must have proven prioritization and planning skills
