JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering & Safety Associate reports to MXS Safety Manager/Industrial Engineer. This role will be responsible for supporting all required tasks and duties related to MXS safety agenda, developing work instructions, state licensing, and other duties as assigned by the Manager. It is a highly interactive position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both an office and shop floor environment and possess the ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver Safety Orientation Training via PPT to New Hires and Visitors
Photograph work processes from start to finish, which may require standing for long periods.
Work well with production personnel to perform job duties without interfering in their tasks.
Communicate with supervisors about scheduling set times to photograph work processes in real-time.
Use a digital camera and upload photos to a sharepoint site.
Inspect and re-fill First Aid Supply Cabinets and Eye Wash Stations per ANSI Class B requirements.
Inspect Egress and Evacuation Routes.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets and other safety records.
Conduct ladder and scaffold inspections.
Perform Job Safety Analysis and PPE Hazard Assessments
Help gather process and parts information for Standard Work Instructions from documentation and production personnel.
Inspect Safety Harnesses and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Perform Behavior Based Safety Observations regularly.
Able to use MS Excel and Power Point software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment with no safety violations.
Education: High School Diploma/GED, Tech or Trade School completion preferred.
Related Experience:
Knowledge of OSHA
Strong work ethic with ability to plan and complete projects.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary. Standing for long periods is sometimes required.
