The Manufacturing Engineer

evaluates the safety, quality and efficiency of current manufacturing processes, raw materials, vended parts, and part and system designs. Participates in the identification of alternate materials, parts, and processes that improve product quality, reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and cost.

:

Competitive exempt salary based upon experience. Incentive Bonus eligible.

Location:

Newbury, OH. This position is 100% onsite, M-F, 8-5.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluates and recommends changes to current product designs to increase product reliability and manufacturability, and to reduce costs.

Evaluates and recommends raw materials for manufacturing to increase product reliability and reduce costs.

Evaluates and recommends changes to the production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs and ensure safety.

Identifies opportunities for automation within the manufacturing process.

Serves as project lead for the implementation of automated equipment including hardware testing and software programming.

Develops tools and machines and designs new automation equipment or processes to increase productivity and efficiency in all manufacturing areas.

Defines and implements design and process validation plans, performs process failure mode effect analysis, and prepares control plans for manufactured and vended products.

Writes Engineering Changes and deviations to document changes to form, fit or function of production parts or manufacturing processes.

Coordinates with the Product and Manufacturing process specialists on potential material, part and system changes.

Collaborates with product development teams on new product design and field testing.

Evaluates returned goods for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and product issues.

Performs dimensional and functional review of manufactured and purchased parts.

What you will need to succeed:

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing and industrial engineering with 5 -8 years of manufacturing process or manufacturing production experience.

Lean Six Sigma Training – Preferred Green Belt level, Black Belt a plus.

Competencies:

Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Experience using CAD and/or CAE Software.

Experience with specifying, supporting and troubleshooting automation equipment and ancillary components.

Experience with plastic injection molding a plus.

Experience with plastic part design a plus.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet proficiency.

Good

interpersonal/customer

relation skills.
