    Description

    Bachelor's degree in a Natural Science and five years of professional post-degree research experience in the appropriate field; or a Master's Degree and four years of such experience; or a doctorate in the appropriate field and two years of such experience.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    PhD research in the area of untargeted analysis and metabolomics, experience with high resolution mass spectrometry methods for the analysis of human specimens for omics, post doctoral training and experience in relevant area and quality of publications, experience procuring federal grant funding, and data analysis experience of untargeted metabolomics and other mass spectral data.

    Duties Description Under general supervision of a Research Scientist 6, the incumbent establishes, develops, supervises, researches, and manages the untargeted metabolomics research program and public health service related to that program using high resolution mass spectrometry in the Laboratory of Organic Analytical Chemistry (LOAC)


    Specific duties include:
    1) Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program in the area of untargeted analysis and metabolomics using high resolution mass spectrometry including Orbitrap
    2)Direct and support the ongoing scientific research, investigation and the analysis of human biological specimens and participate in relevant public health programs within DEHS
    3) Direct Supervision of Staff
    4) Participate in School of Public Health activities
