    Payload Customer Support Engineer
    HOUSTON, TX


    OVERVIEW:

    SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic engineer who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axioms Customer Engineering Support team with customer payload consulting and design. The Payload Customer Support Engineer will ensure technical requirements are met for integration on ISS and Axiom Station. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about customer service and engineering. The role requires strong organizational, time management, comprehension, and communication skills.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Providing ISS and Axiom element subject matter expertise to Axioms payload clients
    • Collaborating with Axiom clients to develop payload designs that meet their objectives
    • Providing varying degrees of client support in the design, build, test, and verification of payloads in accordance with client needs
    • Assisting Axiom integration team to ensure all requirements for payloads are met
    • Mentor junior engineers
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required
    • 10+ years experience as ISS Payload Systems Engineer, or similar role
    • Strong familiarity with the ISS environment for scientific payloads
    • Experience in the ISS payload domain and at the least one (with more being preferable) of the following field: mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, or software engineering
    • Experience with science payload development, specifically: + Pressurized hardware & software interfaces for payloads
    • The requirements definition process for payloads
    • Managing payload development projects
    • Experience in organization of technical reviews for payload development projects
