    Job Summary


    NOTE:


    This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time: Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate.

    Only one position will be filled; the final class and starting salary of this position is dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications.

    This position will have the option to telework part-time .

    The employee will be required to complete a telework agreement.

    This position exists to provide professional engineering leadership for: Utility Coordination, Project Management, and Detail Design for the design and development of construction plans for District 8.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications


    Minimum Qualifications - Engineer Senior:


    Applicants must be licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.

    (If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
    Class D Driver's License

    Minimum Qualifications - Engineer 2 Graduate:
    A bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering from an EAC-ABET accredited college/university or equivalent as rated by EAC/NCEES;
    A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
    Two (2) years post-graduation civil engineering work.
    OR
    A Master's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an EAC-ABET accredited college/university or equivalent as rated by EAC/NCEES
    A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
    One (1) year of post-graduate civil engineering work.
    OR
    Received a passing score on the Minnesota Principals & Practices of Civil Engineering (PE) Exam.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Knowledge of CADD, Windows based operating systems, spreadsheet and word-processing software applications.

    Knowledge of MnDOT policies, procedures, HPDP, ADA requirements, Geometric Design Standards, MnDOT Specifications, Plan Production Standards, Sample Plans, and State and Federal statute and regulatory requirements.

    Knowledge of critical path scheduling theory, applications and tools (e.g., Artemis Project View (APV) or Prima Vera (P6).
