    GENERAL PURPOSE:
    Opportunity to join the growing CTSI Informatics team to support initiatives to transform and accelerate clinical research.

    Under general direction and with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, the Programmer Analyst is responsible for supporting informatics-related infrastructure programs, and contributing to the specification, development, and deployment of research tools and projects.

    This includes support for clinical research data warehouses and the Secure Environment for Research Data & Analytics (SERDA) computing platform.

    This position works collaboratively CTSI Informatics team members, eRecord team members, senior CTSI leadership and other research informaticians.


    SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVED:
    Reports to the CTSI Informatics Lead Informatician.

    Works collaboratively with other CTSI Informatics Branch staff, including other Research Informaticians and programmers, and ISD EPIC partners, including the Enterprise Data and Analytics team.

    Expected to work in a collegial manner with all faculty, staff and students, and independently manage priorities and deadlines.


    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Evaluate, adopt, and improve open-source packages and tools to analyze and report data quality and completeness in research data warehousesDevelop SQL queries, procedures, and other scripting codes (Python or R) to assist in the maintenance and validation of the research Common Data Models, including i2b2 and OMOPSupport development and operation of the computer programs to facilitate the process of CTSIs informatics activities and research tools, including clinical data cohort discovery tools, ATLAS and TriNetxDesign, develop, and maintain online dashboards in support of reporting of CTSI informatics services, and operation of research data warehouses and the SERDA programWork closely with other clinical research informaticians and programmer analysts on process improvementOther projects and job duties as assigned


    REQUIREMENTS:


    Bachelors degree with major course work Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent, minimum of 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience/training.

    A minimum of 2 years of programming experience with SQL in Microsoft SQL Server is required. Experience and knowledge with programming language (Python or R) and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Microsoft Power BI) are required.

    Familiarity with common data model such as i2b2 or OMOP and medical vocabularies (ICD, CPT4, SNOMED, etc.) are highly valuable.

    Must have the ability to juggle several projects at once.

    $ 50,000 - $ 80,000 AnnuallyThe referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the jobs compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
