**Current Need**

**McKesson's CoverMyMeds division has an opening for a Senior Software Manager in our Atlanta, North Druid Hills office.**

**Position Description**

Senior Software Engineering Manager will work with Product and Functional Group Owners to plan, execute projects, and ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical knowledge/specifications, direction, and resources to deliver on business objectives for the development group within the SDLC process. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development Engineering, the manager is accountable for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software and application support, while participating in the strategies created for the product development and driving initiatives that deliver on the business goals and visions.

This is a hands-on role and the manager will need to be comfortable working with multiple technologies and also have a strong understanding of cloud environments.

**Key Responsibilities**

Work closely with Product Owners, Sales, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Project Management for understanding the functional and non-functional requirements of a system, service, or product offering.

Evolve the existing software systems, infrastructure, and architecture as needed to support growth, SLAs, and continued operation within selected OS, database, and integrated commercial software.5. Coordinate release, sprint, and project planning with coordinated meetings as needed to ensure project tracking and completion.

Resolve technical problems, issues, and escalations within delivery team and project activities.

Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.

Maintain and monitor individual employees performance plans.

Investigate/evaluate new technologies for use within our business solutions

Ensures appropriate resource capacity planning and managing risks/barriers to ensure continued forward momentum in our projects

Work with Security teams in the implementation of our security strategies

Responsible for the day-to-day management product/program issues. Involves team members as needed to resolve issues within reasonable time frames and drives escalation needs when necessary.

Development of appropriate training programs to ensure teams grow and operate efficiently/effectively for themselves and the organization.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

**Required Qualifications**

9+ years software engineering experience including 1+ years managerial experience.

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience

**Critical Skills**

6+ years of experience with the software development lifecycle from conception to delivery

Demonstrated experience in the ability to coordinate and contribute to the design of systems including operational alignment, scaling, boundary conditions, and architectural decisions

Influence engineers at all levels from new graduates to senior engineering leadership

Demonstrated experience with cloud (GCP/Azure), with a preference to candidates that have modernized on-premise systems into the cloud.

Strong grasp of the SDLC with a DevSecOps focus, and able to deliver operational ready systems.

You are comfortable working with product managers, infrastructure teams, and leaders at all levels

**Additional Knowledge & Skills**

Ability to write code in multiple languages and while not part of their daily job, enjoys coding and has not lost their chops, Experience in one or more of Java, C#, Python, Go

Prefer Healthcare business domain knowledge especially in the area of Pharmacy transactions

Experience with high transactional systems, predictive analytics, and interoperability

Experience working with solutions in highly regulated industries (eg Healthcare, Financial)

Experience with containerization patterns, best practices, and architecture.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
