    Summary This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC
    • Title 32, Position Description Number D and is part of the WI 115 MXS, Wisconsin Air National Guard.

    • Title 32, WG , you will perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraftegress systems, such as aircraft ejection seats, extraction and escape systems,egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hatches anddoors, and egress trainers.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
    Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.

    This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.

    Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

    Military Grades:
    E-1 through E-5
    Trainees will be accepted Conditions of Employment:
    • National Guard Membership is required.
    • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
    • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
    • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
    • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
    • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
    An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
    • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
    • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

    Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
    Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks.


    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

    To qualify for the WG level, you must have at least 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems.

    Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
