    Lead Python and Java Developer (Must Financial or Payment Processing Experience)

    Cognizant Digital Engineering practice is looking to hire a motivated and energetic Lead Python and Java Developer.

    Location:
    McLean, VA or Richmond, VA (candidates must currently reside within a commutable distance to McLean or Richmond- no remote work or relocation is feasible for this position)

    Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

    Lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions using Python SQL and AWS technologies.

    Drive the integration of AWS Lambda for efficient serverless computing enhancing system performance.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into high-quality software.

    Ensure the security and reliability of applications through rigorous testing and code reviews. - Optimize existing software for improved efficiency and performance.

    Mentor junior engineers providing guidance and support to foster team growth.

    Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate into projects.

    Contribute to the strategic planning of the technology roadmap aligning with business goals.

    Facilitate the deployment of software solutions ensuring seamless migration and minimal downtime.

    Address and resolve technical issues providing expert advice to stakeholders.

    Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.

    Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and domain knowledge.


    Key Qualifications:
    12+ years Proven experience in SQL AWS Python and AWS Lambda is mandatory.

    Strong understanding of the Cards & Payments domain is required.

    Experience with MySQL JavaScript Java Spring Boot and React JS is highly desirable.

    Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

    Commitment to continuous improvement and learning new technologies.
