    Job Summary: The Clinical Informatics Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and support to users within our laboratory, ensuring the optimal performance of our clinical informatics systems. This role will work closely with the laboratory staff, IT team, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and maintain the integrity and security of our systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide prompt and effective technical support to laboratory staff, addressing issues related to laboratory systems and the supporting infrastructure.
    2. Provide onsite and remote troubleshooting, using tools and techniques to diagnose and resolve technical problems reported by end-users, minimizing disruptions to laboratory workflows.
    3. Collaborate with the IT team to perform routine maintenance, system updates, and software upgrades for clinical informatics systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.
    4. Assist in developing and delivering training materials and resources to educate laboratory staff on the proper use of clinical informatics systems, promoting user adoption and proficiency.
    5. Maintain accurate records of user inquiries, technical issues, and resolutions in the helpdesk ticketing system, facilitating efficient tracking and reporting.
    6. Analyze helpdesk data to identify trends and patterns, contributing to the continuous improvement of support services and knowledge sharing among team members.
    7. Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of clinical informatics systems, implementing preventive measures to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
    8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including laboratory professionals, IT staff, and vendors, to implement new systems, integrate third-party applications, and optimize workflows.
    9. Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in clinical informatics and healthcare IT, applying relevant insights to enhance support services.
    10. Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in remote troubleshooting tools and techniques.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and their integration with EHR systems.
    • Knowledge of HL7 standards and other healthcare data exchange protocols.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools for streamlining support processes.

    Work Schedule:

    • Monday- Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

    Work Location:

    • Onsite in Saint Charles, IL
