    Purpose: Heritage Crystal Clean is seeking a contribution minded Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. The Staff Accountant position works with the accounting department to ensure all Company transactions and financial statements are recorded according to GAAP.

    Essential Duties:

    Follow GAAP and Company procedures
    • Perform sales and volume reconciliations (month end)
    • Prepare various internal reports (weekly/monthly)
    • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts and accruals
    • Data entry of accounting information
    • Prepare and post journal entries
    • Prepare and post statistical entries
    • Expense tracking and analysis within the Oil Business
    • Distribution of financial reports
    • Oil Business allocation entries
    • Liaison for Mobile App for vessels and gauge tables
    • Other reasonable duties as assigned by management

    Work Experience
    • Entry level
    Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • CPA a plus
    Specific Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Intermediate knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
    • Great Plains experience a plus
    • Highly detail oriented
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with non-accounting individuals/teams
    • The ability and desire to be a team player
    • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works indoors and may be required to sit for long periods. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
