    Job Description:

    SUMMARY

    Overseesthe labs associated with the Engineering Technology program including set up,troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.

    ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
    • Sets up and provides technical support for lab equipment
    • Troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs equipment, i.e., loads software on computers, installs and removes device drivers, adds or deletes printers, performs hard disk management
    • Maintains and calibrates mechanical and electronic test equipment
    • Configures hardware and software
    • Monitors and assists patrons by explaining and enforcing lab policies and procedures to ensure proper utilization of lab equipment
    • Assists instructors during lab sessions and with the design and testing of new lab experiments (Mostly mechanical assistance)
    • Orders, receives, stores supplies and ensures proper maintenance of lab equipment
    • Provides functional supervision to assigned part-time staff and student employees
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
    • Associate's degree in an engineering discipline
    • Minimum of three years of engineering industry experience
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
    • General working knowledge of DC & AC Theory, Analog and Digital Electronics, Micro-computer fundamentals, Mechanical Drives, Machining, CNC Equipment, Hand tools and Machine repair
    • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Possess basic proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
    • Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
    • Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail
    • Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
    • Ability to effectively accept direction from multiple sources and exercise sound judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work
