- Participates in antibioticstewardship, opioid stewardship, and shortage management activitiesas assigned.

Summary:
CHRISTUS Specialty Pharmacy is hiring a full-time clinicalpharmacist with a focus on rheumatology. The pharmacist will beresponsible for the clinical management of patients withrheumatological conditions and will be working on-site in theBeaumont rheumatology clinic. The pharmacist will be responsiblefor initial and follow-up patient assessments and consultations andfor proper documentation in accordance with the pharmacy's policiesand procedures and URAC and ACHC standards. The pharmacist will beresponsible for ensuring safe and appropriate therapy andcommunicating recommended changes with medical staff. Thepharmacist will be responsible for overseeing the priorauthorization and appeals processes and offering clinicalassistance to technician staff completing the authorizations asneeded. Consults with nursing and medical staff regardingprescriptions, orders, drug and pharmaceutical detail, patientreactions, errors, and complaints. Provides prescribed medications,drugs, and other pharmaceuticals. Conducts Drug Utilization Reviewsand prepares Drug Review Criteria for medical staff review andapproval. Monitors drug therapy as assigned by medical staff.Suggests alternate drug therapy as appropriate.
