    Our client is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their team.

    Hybrid: 3 days onsite. 2 day Home

    Skills: Insurance, Underwriting, logging, and scanning incoming mail

    Job Summary

    This position is for an entry-level support staff in Insurance Underwriting, who under close supervision, performs routine tasks such as reviewing correspondences and records for processing, filing all documents electronically, reviewing inspections, and general mail room processes including folding outgoing mail and logging and scanning incoming mail.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review correspondences and records for processing, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • File all documents electronically, maintaining organized and accessible records.
    • Review inspections and other documents, assisting underwriters in assessing risk factors.
    • Handle general mail room processes, including folding outgoing mail and logging and scanning incoming mail.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
    • Embrace opportunities for learning and growth, seeking feedback and actively participating in training programs.
    • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work culture, fostering teamwork and collaboration

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
    • Previous experience in an administrative role or internship in insurance or financial services is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy in all tasks.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively as part of a team.

    Must have:

    • Experience managing electronic filing systems, handling mail room processes, and prioritizing tasks effectively demand strong organizational skills.
    • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and electronic filing systems, are essential for this role.
