    Overview


    The Patient Services Representative is responsible scheduling and/or checking patients into the department and for the representation of patients and families in non-medical matters pertaining to their needs, comfort and personal satisfaction.


    The qualified candidate will possess the following:
    A. Education

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    B. Experience

    • Medical terminology, typing and computer skills
    • Six months experience in a related field
    C. Interpersonal requirements

    • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, has a commitment to customer service.
    • Communicates effectively with all applicable customers and age groups.
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with physicians, technical staff, phlebotomists, nursing and ancillary departments.
    • Handles multiple tasks effectively.
    • Remains detail-oriented in stressful situations.
