- Scans patients according to protocols and parameters with knowledge of trouble shooting MRI systems.
- Archives patient exams.
- Confidently starts IV's.
- Adapts to different MRI environments (1.5T MRI machines, 3T MRI machines, and MRI machines) in the operating rooms.
- Functions in different patient monitoring systems throughout the organization.
- Follows MRI safety guidelines according to organization policy.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
- Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
- Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served.
- Depending upon department of hire, the employee may required to be ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certified within 6 months of hire.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- One of the following
- ARRT Registration as Nuclear Medicine Technology R.T. (N)(ARRT).
- ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technician R.T. ( R) (ARRT).
- Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
- Three (3) years of technical experience.
- This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
