We are looking for a motivated individual who is comfortable in a position with tasks that will vary daily. First shift, Mon-Fri, 8AM-4:30PM (may be negotiable)

Department Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Reports to Quality Manager

1. Job Summary

The QC/QA Floater performs assorted tasks to support the work of the Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Production departments. Daily scheduling needs determine what tasks the floater will perform each day.

1. Essential Job Functions

Quality Control:

• Inspection: visual inspection for quality while putting printed labels into finished roll form, performed on tabletop (seated) or upright (standing) inspection equipment
• Bagging: taking inspected finished rolls and heat sealing them for protection before they are sent to Shipping
• Order Verification: comparing the product in finished form to the instructions on the job ticket before bagging the order
• Manually assembling sheeted label packets

Quality Assurance:

• Proofreading: comparing first piece printed samples to the customer approved electronic press proof (via computer)
• Production Run Approval: comparing instructions on the job ticket and proof to the actual printed labels on press to verify that all criteria match before the production run can start

Production:

• Seamer Rewinder: inspecting and rewinding seamed sleeves into finished roll form
• Sheeted labels: catching and stacking sheeted labels at press

1. Abilities Required

• Attention to detail
• Ability to read a ruler
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to stand/sit for long periods
• Ability to work in a production environment around equipment and noise
