    Position Overview:
    Reviews contract provisions of General Contractor and Owner agreements and proposes alternative language to manage the Company's risk exposure. The contract review process includes in-depth analysis of the pre and post award documents and includes the coordination of client due diligence, contractual insurance, and bonding requirements. This is a non-Procurement role.

    Administrative functions include computerized handling of databases, assisting in the completion and distribution of contract documents and compliance deliverables, and project record keeping. This position will work with all levels of employees and management along with external clients. The position requires individuals who are highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated, with superior written and oral communication skills and openness to learning.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs contract review and drafts proposed change for the appropriate customer/owner team.
    • Coordinates the contracting process from bid development through contract execution.
    • Identifies opportunities and potential impacts and makes recommendations to the bid team during pre-award and post-award activities.
    • Discerns, manages, and informs internal stakeholders of potential risk throughout the contract.
    • Performs pre and post award activities including ensuring all documentation is received and coordinates and prepares contract administrative deliverables and correspondence items.
    • Manages contract tracking and document retrieval through company's established contract processes and project record-keeping.
    • Acts as a liaison between operations, safety, finance, insurance coordinator and outside counsel.
    • Resolves routine questions where problems have occurred before and their solutions generally are familiar. Refers more complex issues to higher levels.
    • Assists other groups with information, forms, reports, and other department analytics.
    • Completes special projects, as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED certificate from a state education accredited institution.
    • A Bachelor's degree in a business related field is strongly preferred.
    • At least 3-5 years experience with contracts administration in a construction, legal, or risk management related-industry in a non-procurement role.
    • Demonstrated experience with reading, interpreting, summarizing, and negotiating various types of non-standard contract documents.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to use available resources to develop an understanding of the Owner/General Contractor requirements.
    • Strong and effective oral and written communications skills, including ability to prepare and deliver information concisely orally and in writing to address an educationally diverse group of employees at all levels of the organization as well as to individuals outside the organization.
    • Ability to effectively, plan, organize and control the work process effectively in order to meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word (redline and version control). Working knowledge of Adobe DC including text editing and document markups. Experience with DocuSign is desired.
    • Able to follow (written and oral) instructions from leadership and use available internal and external resources to achieve tasks.
    • Possess basic business acumen and professional attitude.
