    Description

    **General Assignment Reporter**

    We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and creative reporter who can think and perform outside the box on TV and our digital platforms.

    The ideal candidate should be able to develop contacts, pitch impactful enterprise stories, and have a great understanding of social media and breaking news on digital first.

    • Create, write, and edit meaningful stories for station's newscast and website
    • Fully invested in social media audience engagement
    • Dynamic live reporting skills
    • Ability to adjust for breaking news and convey urgency and immediacy to the viewer
    • Understanding of how active live shots are incorporated into storytelling
    • Create unique, impactful enterprise content that digs deeper than a news conference
    • Connect with local community members and develop strong sources
    • Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance

    This person should also have:

    • Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
    • Excel in storytelling across multiple platforms
    • Great understanding of our brand in storytelling
    • Strong writing and copy-editing skills
    • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred
    • At least 5 years of experience as a Reporter
    • Must be able to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines

    $80,000 - $120,000 per year
