    Description


    Summary This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.

    Responsibilities As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS , you will establish plans and schedules for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms.

    Implement maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments.

    Using readiness, production and management reports available from the current automation support program and/or manual system, provide status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment as required or requested.

    Responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, supply updates, and other pertinent information. Make on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
    This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only.

    Category 1:

    All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard.

    First consideration will be given to Category 1. TEMPORARY PROMOTION
    • For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).
    If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty.

    If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.


    INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only:
    This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).

    If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3).

    If a Reduction-In
    • Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated.
    If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.

    INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-State National Guard Members (Not Current T5 or T32 Onboard): This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour), selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3).

    PCS:
    Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized.

    Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

    This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 87 and the President is Mr.

    Enlisted; E4 thru E7


    GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
    Must have experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity


    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

    GS-09 Must have at least 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level; experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities; experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility; experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes; experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

    Education If you are using Education to qualify for this position, you must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.

    To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
