- Full time: 35-40hours per week
- Hours: 7:30 - 3:30
- Monday - Friday
- LPN will be providingmedical carefor 5-7 students in a special needs classroom
- Comfortable proving medical care tospecial needs and medically fragile students
- Responsibilities will include: seizure monitoring, g-tube care, medication administration, feeding, wheelchair assistance, oxygen administration and classroom assistance
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of the student's health condition and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the student's healthcare team and parents/guardians.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and medical interventions as needed, ensuring compliance with state laws, school policies, and medical orders.
- Continuously monitor the student's vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status during school hours. Recognize and respond to changes promptly.
- Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, such as seizures, allergic reactions, or other health crises, following established
- Provide education and training to school staff, including teachers and aides, regarding the student's medical condition, emergency procedures, and the administration of medications or medical devices.
- Maintain open and effective communication with the student's parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and school personnel to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to the student's care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of the student's health assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment. Ensure compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Serve as an advocate for the student's health and educational needs, working to create a safe and supportive school environment that accommodates their medical condition.
- CurrentLPNlicense in Massachusetts
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- New York fingerprint clearance
- Experience in pediatric nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
