    Aguirre & Fields is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Graduate Engineer - Structures Division in the Austin, TX office.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Graduate Engineer in the Structures Division will develop and apply professional working knowledge to bridge design calculations and plan sets. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with a team of professional engineers to gain experience with various TxDOT, city, and county projects that affect the community.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks by a professional engineer.
    • Perform routine technical work.
    • Prepare routine plans, designs and calculations, and cost estimates by following standard engineering practices and procedures within established guidelines.
    • Acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
    • Receive close supervision on all aspects of assignments.
    • Interact and assist with other staff on assignments.
    • Assume other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.
    • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, practices, and rules.
    • Serve as an example of proper conduct per Company Guiding Principles.

    SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program
    • Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred but not required
    • Relevant technology/software experience: MicroStation or other drafting software equivalent as well as Excel Spreadsheets & Word.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
