Job Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating the Annual Compliance Permit Program for all OSTDS facilities that require an annual operating permit Conducts field inspections to ensure proper operation Maintains continuous surveillance for sources of pollution detrimental to public health/environment Coordinates reviews applications for individual OSTDS to determine soil characteristics and water table elevations Determines topographical conditions by establishing benchmarks using calibrated instrumentation Interprets technically complex soil morphology establishes wet season water table elevations makes final decision on possibility of using an individual OSTDS Reviews wetland survey issues specific recommendations for proper location construction maintenance of individual sewage disposal systems Meets with property owners engineers contractors developers recommend design changes discuss possible protection environmentally sensitive areas Reviews approves designs OSTDS residential commercial facilities based gallons per day sewage flow Performs construction final inspections determines level of compliance permit conditionsReviews project plans submitted developers engineers governmental entities relate sewage disposal systems Initiates necessary enforcement action prepares variances works Environmental Manager projects directed Assists performing quality assurance inspections plays key role training employees interns Investigates citizen complaints water sewage environmental issues affecting community health/safety Prepares preliminary enforcement actions non-compliance issuance notice violation NOV Other duties as requiredJob description
