    Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

    This is a Hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office.

    This role provides support in backorder management between SCM Purchasing and IU Health clinical and non-clinical requesters. Develops a process to acquire and manage all inbound communications obtaining the latest information on backordered/discontinued items from any/all suppliers. Creates and maintains an effective reference tool for internal parties on all items that are on backorder. Effectively coordinates backorder activities between all relevant internal and external parties to include IU Health requesters, supply chain management teams, suppliers, distributors and other support staff. Builds relationships with suppliers to ensure deliverables are met. Provides supplier performance feedback for SCM business reviews. Works under limited guidance on problems using resources and independent judgement to make decisions. Ensures all efforts are exhausted to obtain product for customers on time and at the best price. Ensures goods and capital acquisitions have been secured by closely monitoring open orders and communicating to all internal and external parities as needed. Supports the maintenance of the information system database.

    Strong Excel skills are needed for this role: Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Formulas, etc.. This position is very data driven and requires regular reporting of data.
    • High School Diploma/GED is required. Associates Degree or Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) is preferred.
    • Requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant purchasing experience.
    • Experience in leading and defining continuous improvement processes is highly desired.
    • Requires knowledge of Supply Chain processes and a demonstrated ability to track, analyze and interpret business data.
    • Requires strong computer skills and a thorough understanding of Materials Management Computer Systems.
