The Intake Specialist is accountable to the Supervisor for overseeing all functions related to the intake of new clients in the BH.SUD Programs Office(s).
This includes the responsibility to engage incoming clients through phone calls, recording their personal details, gathering medical histories, and obtaining any health insurance information they have.
To be successful as an intake coordinator, you should be highly organized and detail oriented. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong aptitude for great customer service.Duties and Responsibilities
Understand the responsibilities of answering initial telephone call inquiries about outpatient services in a customer friendly manner.
Completing all admission paperwork and entering it digitally.
Verifying medical insurance and benefits for each patient.
Complete brief screens when necessary.
Complete an inquiry form and track the follow-through of other program personnel. When appropriate, set up initial appointments and send relevant information/forms to the caller.
Understand the office management responsibilities of the administrative team and support other tasks as necessary.
Maintain an up-to-date record of intakes, transfers, discharges, and service plan rotation, notifying Therapists and Supervisors of report deadlines on a bi-weekly basis.
Develop and maintain systems that assure the meeting of both internal and external standards.
Schedule clients for SUD program for all locations and assist other offices with scheduling when necessary.

Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
High school diploma with additional course work in Secretarial Science or a related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum two years clerical, preferred.
