    Description
    Spherion is seeking a dedicated Lead CNC Machine Operator.
    Lead Machinist will lead and supervise a team of 14 CNC operators in 3 shifts.


    Responsibilities:
    Lead and supervise a team of CNC setup operators on multiple shifts, in a complex manufacturing
    environment.
    Able to organize production flow, while keeping a safe and efficient production environment.
    Must be able to setup and operate Swiss type CNC machines such as STAR 32J or similar.
    Ability to understand schematics, blueprints, part drawings and inspection sheets.
    Experienced with production planning, scheduling of workload, tooling requirements and machine
    maintenance programs to achieve optimal OEE.
    Prepare test runs to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
    Supervise the machines while they are running and make any adjustments as needed.
    Inspect, measure and approve finished products and compare them with requirements to determine
    if the process has been completed properly.
    Lead continuous improvements projects in the CNC production floor.
    Participates in the training of new hires and cross training for existing employees.
    Embrace the Lean Manufacturing culture, and lead by example.

    Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


    Skills:
    Extensive working knowledge of Swiss type CNC's.

    Leading and managing a team of CNC Setup-Operators to efficiently produce precision machined parts according to drawings, by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, maintaining superior quality, efficiency and safety standards.


    Education:
    High School

    Experience:

    4-7 years


    Qualifications:
    Minimum of 5 years of experience working with CNC Swiss Type Lathe machines
    Must have effective communication, coaching and leadership skills
    Able to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment, and have attention to detail
    Able to consult with tooling and equipment vendors to find optimal solutions for production
    Advanced skills using precision measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers and gauges
