    The Stabilization and Assessment House at New Haven is a residential treatment center dedicated to highly acute adolescents aged 14-18 and their families. We offer a nurturing, homey atmosphere where we provide residential treatment and an environment where students receive around-the-clock secure care and intensive support . Our expertise lies in addressing complex issues such as traumatic stress, family dynamics, relationship challenges, mental health concerns, and more, all with a focus on family-centered healing.

    Role

    As an LPN or RN at our Treatment Center, you'll play a vital role in providing medical care, medication administration, health assessments, and patient support. You'll have the opportunity to work part-time, enabling you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Our family-friendly shift hours allow you to spend quality time with your loved ones while still pursuing a rewarding nursing career.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    • Morning Shift (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
    • Evening Shift (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

    Applicants have the flexibility to choose the days they are available to work for both shifts. The schedule allows for a balanced work-life experience, accommodating individual needs and preferences.

    Responsibilities:
    • Medical Care: Provide comprehensive medical care for students, including addressing medical emergencies and general medical needs.
    • Medication Administration: Accurately sort and administer medications, adhering to prescribed schedules and dosages.
    • Health Assessments: Respond promptly to reports of pain or illness, conducting thorough assessments of students to determine the appropriate course of action.
    • Medical Appointments: Accompany students to medical appointments and effectively communicate findings to both parents and the Nursing Director.
    • Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record vital signs and student weights as assigned.
    • Narcotics Management: Maintain strict accountability by counting and tracking narcotics during each shift.
    • Behavior and Mood Observation: Continuously monitor students for mood, behavior, and affect, documenting findings for reference.
    • Lab Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate lab draws for students, ensuring accurate and timely results.
    • Medical Communication: Communicate relevant medical information to the Treatment Team and the Psychiatrist, either verbally or in written form.
    • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 medical assistance.
    • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards in all patient-related matters.
    • Licensure Maintenance: Complete all activities required to maintain an active and valid nursing license in the State of Utah.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum age of 21
    • Current driver's license and a clean driving record
    • Ability to pass a Utah State background check
    • Active LPN or RN licensure in Utah
    • Strong teamwork and autonomy skills
    • Excellent communication abilities for conveying medical information to students, parents, and colleagues
    • Openness to professional and clinical feedback
    • Commitment to providing culturally competent services and continuous training and development
    • Proficiency in medical terminology, techniques, legal charting procedures, and medication administration
    • Skill in using nursing tools and equipment (e.g., needles, thermometers, diagnostic tests, stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, etc.)
    • Competence in assessing students' physical conditions
    • Familiarity with word processing software and network navigation
    • Ability to check and record vital sign
    • Experience working with adolescents is not required, but it is a plus
